An Impression of the New Xbox Experience Posted on 20 Nov 2008 by Charge
Waking up to an update is always the best feeling. But waking up knowing you can't use it until you get back from somewhere? Now that hurts. 10 GMT and I am still waiting for the update to come through. Of course, where Microsoft is situated its still not midnight there (hence why I couldn't update) So off to college I go. After about 30 minutes of my first lecture another Xbox owner comes over and sits down next to me. "What you think of the new Dashboard?" he asks. Of Course he turned up 20 minutes late to College to update it. Now that just hurt even more. Anyway, the day seemed to trail, and when I finally got home, hoping I could take screen shots and stuff to throw up on here, my brother had already updated it for me. Thanks. "My song timer stays at 0:00 when I play a song!"
"My Zune keeps freezing after a song!"

Little has been done to upgrade the existing features, which while usable, have much room to be fleshed out. And while this new firmware does add some welcomed new features, like Marketplace and Audiobooks, it also brought with it a whole host of new, and impossible to ignore issues. And, for those of us who won’t use any of the new additions for whatever reason, the firmware essentially warrants itself as a downgrade.

Zune 3.0 Software Review Posted on 28 Sep 2008 by Johnny Westlake
As Microsoft and its Zune platform move into its third year cycle of business, Microsoft has bolstered up their already impressive Zune platform into one, that quite undoubtedly offers more to music enthusiasts than even Apple themselves do. How did they achieve this? Through an excellent understanding of what a music listener wants, and needs, and then putting them to practice into a wonderfully made piece of software. Sure, there are gaps in the framework, but by and large, this is quite the achievement.
